Как Новый Год встретишь - так его и проведёшь. Всем известная поговорка. Хоть я и не суеверный, 2018 год я решил начать с так называемого "Чистого листа". Да и все жизненные обстоятельства сложились таким образом что мне пришлось многое оставить из моей прежней жизни. Это и не многочисленные друзья с которыми я знаком очень давно, и которых теперь у меня и вовсе не осталось. Различные финансовые долги с которыми я к счастью практически рассчитался (так хорошо жить без "петли на шее"). И конечно в предвкушении будущих летних поездок на моём чоппере! А что бы эти поездки были более приятными я наконец то решил заняться созданием Harley-Davidson Front Springer fork replica. Именно HD Springer, а не УРОДЛИВЫЙ - DNA Springer fork.
As the New Year meet - so spend it. All known saying. Although I am not superstitious, 2018 I decided to start with the so-called "Clean slate". Yes, and all of life's circumstances in such a way that I had to leave much of my old life. That and not many friends with whom I've known for a very long time, and now I have not left. Various financial debts which I fortunately almost paid off (it's so good to live without "the loop on the neck"). And of course in anticipation of future year travel on my chopper! What would these trips were more enjoyable, I finally decided to create Harley-Davidson Front Springer fork replica. It HD Springer and not UGLY - DNA Springer fork.

Я думаю объяснять разницу между ними не нужно. 

Главный отличительный признак Old HD Springer Fork это конечно же - трубы с переменным сечением (конусная труба)! 

I think to explain the difference between them is not necessary. 
The main feature of the Old HD Springer Fork is of course pipe with a variable cross section (tapered pipe)!

А так же нижняя HD траверса (bottom traverse/bottom tree). Именно этого нет у DNA Springer fork.

В общем и остальные элементы HD Springer гораздо интереснее, и несут за собой отпечаток ретро, винтажные черты начала двадцатого столетия.

In General, the rest of the HD Springer is much more interesting, and carry the imprint of retro, vintage features from the beginning of the twentieth century.

Почему не купить готовый  оригинальный Springer? Первое и основное это ДЕНЬГИ. Хотя несколько лет назад у меня была возможность купить в России Springer от Harley-Davidson WLA, но тогда у меня не было нужной суммы денег. И как выясняется это к лучшему. Какое то время назад я пришёл к выводу что нет не чего лучше вещи сделанной собственными руками. Так как она уникальна и единична в своём роде, плюс невероятное ощущение от проделанной лично тобой работы и конечно результат - это намного приятнее! Вспомнилась ещё одна поговорка - Не было бы счастья, да несчастье помогло. Что перефразируя в моём случае - Нет денег тогда пора поработать руками. Ну и конечно головой.

Why not buy a ready-made original Springer? First and foremost is MONEY. Although a few years ago I had the opportunity to buy in Russia Springer from Harley-Davidson WLA, but then I didn't have the right amount of money. And as it turns out it's for the best. Some time ago I came to the conclusion that there is not something better things done with his own hands. Because it is unique and single in its kind, plus the incredible feeling from the done you personally work and of course the result is much nicer! I remembered another saying - there would be No happiness, Yes the misfortune has helped. To paraphrase that in my case No money then it's time to work with his hands. And of course head.

Перед началом работы нужно от чего то отталкиваться. Когда я переделывал раму своего чоппера, я использовал чертёж рамы Harley-Davidson rigid. Все кто следит за моим блогом помнят что ранее я приобрёл нижнюю траверсу HD Springer, и передний рычаг.

Before starting work the need of something to push off. When I altered the frame of my b- chopper, I used the drawing frame Harley-Davidson rigid. All who follow my blog remember that earlier I bought a lower bridge HD Springer, and front lever.

Ах да, чуть не забыл. Ещё у меня имелась интересная вещица. Это копия вилки HD Springer. Как рассказал мне её бывший владелец она досталась ему с мотоциклом Harley-Davidson WLA, который он решил восстановить до заводского состояния. Проблема в том что вилка очень странно сделана. С одной стороны на ней присутствует лужение всех швов латунью (забытая у нас в России технология защиты сварочных швов, о ней я хочу остановится подробнее но позже). С  другой стороны все элементы сделаны ужасно, кривые плохо обработанные. И поэтому исправлять её не было смысла, хотя покупая её я хотел это сделать. Но позже понял что проще сделать новую. Но в качестве снятия нужных мне размеров а в дальнейшем макета она подойдёт.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I have had an interesting thing. This is a copy of Springer forks HD. As told her former owner she got him from a motorcycle Harley-Davidson WLA, which he decided to restore to the factory condition. The problem is that the fork is very strange made. On the one hand it is the tinning of all joints brass (forgotten in Russia we have the technology to protect the welds on it I want to stop but more later). On the other hand, all the elements are made badly, badly treated curves. And so to fix it did not make sense, although buying it I wanted to do it. But later realized that it is easier to make a new one. But as removing the necessary size and in the future layout it would fit.

С помощью этих деталей я мог начать работать, произведя необходимые замеры. Диаметр трубы которая у меня нашлась 27мм, толщина стенки 3мм. Конечно в идеале найти трубу с толщиной стенки по больше но измерив на нижней траверсе HD толщину трубы я обнаружил что она так же толщиной 3мм.
With these parts I could start to work, making the necessary measurements. The diameter of the pipe which I had 27mm, wall thickness 3mm. of Course, ideally, find a pipe with a wall thickness of more but measured on the lower HD traverse the thickness of the pipe, I found that it's the same 3 mm thickness.

Что бы согнут верхнюю часть труб вилки я использовал трубогиб. Очень много времени потратил для того что бы сделать два одинаковых изгиба.
That would bend the upper part of the fork tubes, I used a pipe Bender. A lot of time spent for that would make two of the same bend.

Как же это не просто. С одной трубой нет проблем. Но сделать точно такую же вторую это что то невероятное. Постоянная замеры на соответствие. В общей сложности у меня ушло на это несколько часов. Тем не менее сделать полностью одинаковые трубы у меня не получилось (для следующей HD Front Springer fork я придумал как это сделать, расскажу об этом позже). Для первой работы этого вполне достаточно, и я доволен.
How is it not just. With one tube no problem. But to do the exact same second is something incredible. Constant measurement for compliance. However, to do exactly the same pipe I did not succeed (for the next HD Springer Front fork I figured out how to do it, talk about it later). For a first job that is enough, and I'm happy.

После сгибания труб, следующим этапом была разметка центра вдоль обоих труб с обоих сторон. С обоих концов трубы в сторону её центра необходимо оставить расстояние. В этих местах труба останется не тронутой и не будет изменена. Это расстояние конусного расширения и сужения трубы (эти места отмечены ниже красными кругами).

After bending of pipes, the next step was the markup of the centre along both pipes on both sides.

Далее по размеченным линиям с обеих сторон нужно трубу разрезать.

После этого с помощью любого заострённого предмета (это может быть - отвёртка, зубило, пруток, труба) расклиниваем трубу в самом широком месте (это центр крепления нижней траверсы к нашей трубе) до 47 мм. Этот размер я измерил на моей HD Springer Front fork.
Then, using any pointed object (it can be a screwdriver, chisel, rod, pipe) raskladyvaem the pipe at the widest point (the center of the securing the lower traverse to the pipe) to 47 mm. Is the size I measured on my HD Springer Front fork.

В итоге труба сама расширится и приобретёт необходимую форму.

Eventually the pipe itself will expand and acquire the necessary form.

После того как вы получили необходимую ширину трубы её нужно зафиксировать. Здесь так же подойдёт всё что угодно - болты, кусок трубы круглой или профильной и так далее. Я просверлил два отверстия и вбил 8 мм пруток, и закрепил его сварочным швом. Теперь можно вытащить клин из разрезанной трубы и насладится проделанной работой!

Once you've received the required width of the pipe it needs to be fixed. Here as for everything - bolts, a piece of pipe round or profiled and so on. I drilled two holes and drove the 8 mm rod and secured it with a welding seam. Now you can pull out the wedge from the cut pipe and enjoy the work done!
