It all started after the motorcycle was made " The June Bug" on the basis of Izhevsk engine "Jupiter" 500 cc. cm, or rather, after they had won three prizes at various exhibitions. This happened five years ago. And if you happen to build a bike around Izhevsk prize exclusives, then why not try to do too Irbitskogo around ?
In Irbite happen, at least three times a year, so information about the company and its products ( serial and not) there is always enough. There have repeatedly been able to visit the museum and motorcycle. That's when I realized that the heart of the new project should become legendary liter (1000 cc. Cm) Irbitskogo engine plant. Its appearance is immediately struck me on the spot. But most of all struck by the story of a remarkable man, now a museum director Alexander Bulanov, about the fact that this engine is designed for driving a motorcycle without a repair at least 100,000 (one hundred thousand) km. But, as things like that before, if necessary readjusted most of the production for the new product, it immediately cut down on the vine. This engine was everything else: the crankshaft pin were made together with fingers; drive timing chain was, at the usual customary for Ural motor generator place the starter alternator was hanged on the crankshaft, a single disc clutch, oil pump the increased volume, oil cooler, five-speed transmission with reverse, and much more. It required no readjustment of production, and built a new one. All these nuances engine and forced to look for.
According to the stories they were released about a dozen or something like that, and it - 25 years ago. Go - get! There were 750 cc version, but they did not interest me. As a result, searching for the year three - in the form of museum exhibits, one - the same, but installed on a motorcycle ( in the future they will be taken to be installed on a motorcycle with a sidecar, which made the Ming master of «Wolf Engineering»); and another - on a motorcycle, remaining a widow of one of the testers. Motorcycles those who stood in the museum fell off immediately. Motorcycle " widow " was at that time about 80,000 km and looked pretty well, but the price was not really lifting. Somehow caught the eye of one option from another person, who, as it turned out, though versed in motorcycles and on a solid " two", but as a dog in the manger, wasting away on him and did not want to sell. That's all it was over, and there were only a dream. A year later, " Losers " Unwilling to disassemble - assemble the engine , and he named a price " from the very high lantern ", which fully satisfied me. So a week later, this engine was in my hands. In the hands was the engine without rings, rods, with broken valves and very large " shoals " - a big " LEGO " for the big money ... Yes, the box was not my own, but from the sports cinder Urals. But patience and a little effort, and that's a couple of years was in the hands of native box "litrovika".

The winter of 2004-2005 leisurely began preparing a project. For design and engineering solutions posted Oleg «EASY», and for the embodiment of all the decisions in the metal - Volodya "MASTER". Puts more emphasis only on the engine and wheels - without this motorcycle will not go, but without the rest - easy. At the top of the project was delivered condition that when a man riding an impression that the rider straddled the engine rather than the usual eye everyman motorcycle. The foregoing suggests that minimalism was simply obliged to dictate terms.
Stamped on the engine serial number 001, which meant - he was the first and is made somewhere in 1975, ie in the year of my birth. It also made his great contribution. It is possible that for a month he - twin, as I do. So it must be the right one, and the left - very different! So we came to the conclusion that the motorcycle was decided to install a console mount the rear wheel with the single-sided swingarm .
Externally the engine like a rectangle. Based on this project are required to attend straight lines.
Minimalism = Square
But the square does not go - originated circle. Circle should move smoothly in the square: the front wheel round, back - square, frame - gently rolling circle in a square.

The engine was a single large piece of aluminum - aluminum square, and polishing it could turn into something round and lick that right would violate the entire design. In order to give more matte shade took sandpaper number 40 and made a lot of horizontal lines on the unit itself. Exposure to style most of the details should be in aluminum, but separated from each other steel ( painted steel ) and - no chrome!
From what was on the shelves, traced the following picture: the front wheel had to be shod in Metzeler tire dimension 140/70-18, which had to be put on the aluminum welded two Izhevsk ( orionovskih ) rear wheel rim size 4.8x18 "; on the back great fit wheel OZRacing 9x17 " on a racing car , wrapped in tires Bridgestone 245/40-17. Saturation applied to aluminum fork upside- SHOWA of motocross motorcycles and manufactured from an aluminum alloy yoke. All aluminum gave at the mercy of " sandpaper » № 40 for processing in the same style as the engine - rough strip in one direction.

It remained for the main - for the frame. It should be minimalistic , but , in turn, functional , and most importantly - the frame connects the "circle" front wheel with a " square" rear. Frame of "just round " or " square just " not satisfied with the pipe. What was needed was a square- round! But these do not happen!
D50 took the pipe from steel 30HGS and drove her to direct mill. As a result, received a " three in one": the pipe rolled to the desired radius, and the inner portion of the tube acquired flat shape and the outer circular remained. This square- round - radiused tube frame and became the backbone of the workpiece for the pendulum.

Rear part of the frame was made in the style of traverse, and the seat so that it was not clear when it will sit. To the front of the frame decided to take a metal plate, which is entered in the overall appearance of the engine, including chile with a small amount of paint to achieve the effect, when this same engine seems suspended. And to make it easier to dismantle the engine in case of need, it is removable.
Performs the role of silencing the lower part of the frame that is wrapped together with Thermo pipes to enhance the effect of the suspended engine.

Pendulum welded from two pieces of the same " round - square- radius " of the pipe and sheet-metal . In the back of the pendulum welded metal gear cover, dug themselves out of a single piece of metal. And now it is screwed rear axle housing with all the giblets. The pendulum is made and two-arm attached to the frame via the bearings and axle. And that is not a particularly strong shaking on the areas that we are called roads, was set monoshock motocross bike from IL -205, progress for asphalt application was shortened. Shock, of course, equipped with a full range of adjustments, as well as front suspension.
Since the space under the seat turned out in the end, not too much , instead of one 12 - volt battery was installed two 6 volts and a capacity of 18 A / h
Steering wheel made of pipe D36. She also rolled on straight rollers to impart a desired shape. In the first embodiment, it set the throttle lever, brake and clutch levers from IMZ M-72 .

Time spent on the construction of the project from fully formed idea in my head and small drawings on paper to the finished bike - exactly one month.
In developing the project has not been named. Name appeared by accident before painting : the sweep of the pendulum from extra seams on the side of his face turned five uniform bands resembling shark gills. Closely at this picture, it turned out that the shape resembles a fish pendulum. The combination of fish- pendulum and scratched "gills " and gave the right name - SHARK.

After a successful show " Shark " on 8th Bike rally in city Irbite, where she took first place in the competition " Steep redistribution", it was decided to show the bike on the 3rd Moscow Custom Show. But before the official show had to make some changes in the design and appearance.
Who was watching our riding in Irbite, it could be noted that the motorcycle was traveling in a straight line with a slope a bit - this is outweighed by the pendulum.

Once turned shark, you have to add something from a shark.
The result had the following scope of work : pour lead into the cavity of the left frame - to counterbalance the weight of the pendulum, to digest the steering column - for better handling, give the pendulum kind of shark, and on a motorcycle scatter small things in our style and in the style of a shark. Levers performed in the style of sharks teeth, and with a certain hint of flames. After weighing all the work front, we stopped for a period of a month. A month before the trip to Moscow and we all shoveled.

The reward for our common efforts were two first prizes:
- "Steep redistribution" ( Irbit 2005);
- "Best Domestic motorcycle " ( 3rd Custom Show (Moscow 2006) ).
Ride on this creation of human hands, charge a huge amount of adrenaline from the energy it produces, from enthusiastic individuals looking to track; and most importantly - how you merge with the "sharks" and EXPENSIVE !

Oh, I almost forgot ... Mostly mystery : where he tank?
